Adobe Announces Connect Pro 7
Adobe announced a new version of Acrobat Connect Pro coming later in May. The new version contains many new features for Web conferencing such as options for archiving and editing recorded online meetings; new presence capabilities that can allow federation with popular instant messaging (IM) clients; and powerful compliance and usage reporting tools. eLearning enhancements include break-out rooms to let students in virtual classes initiate separate conversations online; rapid authoring of video-based content; integration with Learning Management Systems (LMS) from Blackboard and SumTotal; and tools that track and organize online classes.

Hot Fix to Connect Pro Service Pack 3 Now Available
A hot fix patch to Service Pack 3 for Connect Professional on-premise customers is now available on the Adobe support site. The fix was implemented to Adobe hosted customers on December 8th, 2007.

Updated Meeting Add-in for Adobe Connect 6 SP2
End users who install the latest flash player from Adobe (versions higher than 9.0.47.0) will be required to install this updated Connect Add-in in order to use screen sharing. This only affects customers who are using Adobe Connect Enterprise Server SP1 or SP2.

Handl Consulting has creating a whitepaper comparing the new Turbo Screensharing capabilities of Connect Professional with the competition. The whitepaper looks at latency, smoothness, fidelity and bandwidth.

Service Pack 3 Launches
Adobe Connect 6 Service Pack 3 has been released. This service pack implements a new codec to enable turbo screen sharing, but requires that users have Flash Player 8 or higher installed.

The first Adobe eLearning Challenge has just been announced! The contest started today and we are looking forward to receiving many great entries in a variety of different categories! Prizes include a full copy of CS3 Web Premium, free registration to the Adobe Learning Summit, a spot at the summit to talk about your entry, and $1000 towards the travel cost to the Summit in San Jose.
